A flight school instructor once told me, "Sometimes it's better to be lucky than smart, right, or good looking."

I agree.

Long story short, I signed with an agent yesterday. Eric Ruben of The Ruben Agency, to be specific.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, writing is a long, difficult journey and I count myself extremely lucky to have not only wound up with an agent, but one that is, in my opinion, exceptional. For those that don't know him, Eric has been in the biz for a number of years and has an impressive understanding of both the law and the entertainment industry as a whole. But most important, he's a genuinely nice guy who is passionate about what he does.

A long while back, I wrote a post detailing some advice an author friend gave me. She said it's not about finding an agent, but finding the right agent. I can say with absolute certainty that I have.

Talk about being lucky.

Anyway, if you're looking for an agent, I recommend checking out Eric either on his website or on Twitter: @RubenAgency.

Trust me, he's worth considering.
